Victor L. Hoskins -- Transforming the American Economy

Mr. Hoskins serves as the Director of Economic Development for Arlington County. Dinner meeting at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn. Complimentary indoor parking. 3-minute walk from Rosslyn Station on the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines. $41 pp members/guests; $47 pp non-members/guests. Register by November 23 at 8:00 a.m. A limited number of seats may be available after that time.

Brendan Foley -- Deep Water Archaeology
Dr. Foley (MIT Ph.D. 2003) is a Research Specialist at the Deep Submergence Laboratory, Department of Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Dinner meeting at the Kenwood Club in Bethesda at 6:30 p.m. $43 pp members/guests; $50 pp non-members. Register by November 24.

John J. Fialka -- Car Wars: Rise, Fall, and Resurgence of the Electric Car
Mr. Fialka is a former staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal. He will discuss topics from his new book, Car Wars: The Rise, The Fall, and the Resurgence of the Electric Car, which portrays much of the history and potential for electric cars. The first two chapters are about the “Great Electric Car Race” between MIT and Caltech in 1968, that got people interested again in fooling around with electric cars.

Vietnamese Cuisine and Culture
Enjoy a wonderful 7-course meal with appetizers, a selection of entrées from a buffet, and dessert. Several of the servers will wear traditional Vietnamese dress. We will have a presentation about Vietnamese culture, history, and traditions, as well as information about the food we are eating and typical foods and food preparation in different parts of Vietnam. Present Restaurant, 6678 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church (Annandale), Virginia 22042.
